Step 1(listening)(15min)

   (1).Show the table in 1b and listen to 1a,checking the words they hear.In fact,this part can consolidate the new words and feel the rule"adj+er"

   (2).Show the picture in 1a to students,and remind students to underline the comparative degrees

   (3).Show"blue-bluer,fresh-fresher,clear-clearer,quiet-quieter"and ask students to discuss the rules.

   (4).Read 1a together

   (5)Listen the tape again and fill in the blanks in 1c

Step 2(Fnd the rules)(10min)

   (1)Listen to 2a and fill in the blanks

   (2)Invite some students to write their answers on the blackboard.Others can revise the answers

   (3)Students speak out the rules one by one and try to recite the rules

   (4)Work in groups and fill in the blanks in 2b

   (5)Check the answers and emphasize some key points

Step 3(Pratice)(10min)

   (1)Students name the animals they get

   (2）Change the adj into comparative and superlative degrees

   (3)Talk with their partners and make their new conversations

   (4)Ask four groups to act their conversations and others listen carefully to find out the mistakes

Conclude:sum up the rules of comparative and suprlative degrees and do some exercises.(5min)
