【教学目标】

1.语言知识目标。掌握课文中的生词：culture,famous,appear,become,rich,successful,main,reason,common,unlucky, lose,ready,character,simple。掌握核心短语：think of,come out, one of the main reasons,such as,was ready to,try one’s best。

2.能力目标。运用Skimming，Scanning以及mindmapping的阅读策略获取文章大意，理解文章传递的基本信息和深层含义。

3.文化意识。了解卡通片在美国文化中的地位，米老鼠的诞生和成名过程以及人们喜欢它的原因。

【教学过程】

Step 1 Warming-up and lead in

1.课前播放《说天下》关于米老鼠的视频，进行文化知识的渗透，为学生阅读作好知识上和兴趣上的准备。

2.Tell students：“I bring you a cartoon character,It’s a black mouse with two large round ears,What is it?”(板书cartoon character,同时在黑板上画出米老鼠的头像)。

课件上出现米老鼠的图片，生动形象。

3.Ask the students：“Do you want to know more about Mickey Mouse?”播放《Mickey Mouse Clubhouse》视频。（播放视频之前，告诉学生看视频后回答What do you think Mickey Mouse?）

学生回答：I think it’s funny/interesting/great.

Tell Students：“We’ll learn more about Mickey by reading the passage on P 38.”
