Step 1 Lead in
1. Greeting.
2. Enjoy the song ‘In My Home’ and think about what it is about. Lead in the new lesson.
Step 2 Presentation
1. Learn some new words according to the pictures:
bedroom, study, kitchen, dining room, living room, garden, bathroom, beautiful, next to
2. Read the new words together.
3. Play a guessing game, and help the students remember the new words.
Step 3 Consolidation
1. Show a picture of Jane’s new home and lead in ‘There be’ structure. Ask some students to describe Jane’s home.
2. Sum up the rules of ‘There be’.
3. Let the students have a free talk. Talk about the classroom using ‘There is/are…’
Step 4 Practice
1. Look at the picture. Listen to 1a and choose what Jane and Maria are talking about.
2. Watch the flash and answer the questions. Then check the answers.
3. Ask the students to read 1a together. And then the boys and the girls read 1a individually.
4. Work in groups. Find out the key points in 1a. Then ask some students to say to us.
5. Fill in the blanks.
