Teaching procedure:
Step 1 Warming up
Ask and answer between the teacher and students. Lead to Topic 3.

Step 2 Presentation
1. Let students listen to Part 3 and fill in the blanks.
T: It is such a famous place. Do you want to know more about it ? Let’s listen. Finish 3b.
Read 3b.
2. Show some pictures and lead to 1a.Talk about these pictures between the teacher and the students. Write down the new words on the blackboard and explain them while speaking.
3. Listen to1a. Finish 1b. Then check the answers.
4. Read 1a and answer the following questions:
(1) Why was Big Ben built ?
(2)What was designed by Eiffel Tower ?
Step 3 Consolidation
1. Find out the sentences including the connectives in 1a.
2. Find out the difficult points, and then discuss and solve the problems in groups or with the help of the teacher.
3. Listen to 1a again and read after the tape, pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.
