Free talk.

Show Ss some pictures and then ask them to talk

1.     What they know about the information from the pictures.

2.     Have you ever eaten French cuisine?

Step 2

Show Ss a video about French cuisine.

Step 3

Free talk.

What do you know about the table manners in France?

Step 4

Read through the passage quickly and tell T/ F.

Step 5

Activity 3a.

Ask Ss to read and answer the questions.

Step 6

Read again and ask Ss to make a list of table manners in France.

Step 7

Free talk.

According to the information and then ask Ss to talk about the question:

Can you compare the table manners in France and in China?

Step 8

Discussion.

Do you know about the table manners in other countries?

Step 9

Show Ss some manners and ask Ss to tell whether they agree or not.

Step 10

Writing.

1.     Ask Ss to suppose that an exchange student from a foreign country is going to visit you. Then write a small article to tell him / her about things he / she is supposed to do.

2.     Suppose you are Liu Min, and your pen pal friend Paul is coming to China, and then write to him a letter about the customs in China.
