Step 1 Lead-in

Greet the students. Ask them to look at some pictures of folk and traditional art inChinaand ask them what other folk and traditional art inChinathey know to lead to the target language.

Step 2  Presentation

Ask students to read the passage in 2b by themselves. And try to fill in the chart below.

Step 3  Intensive reading

1. Have students read the first paragraph and answer the question1 in2c.

2. Ask students to read the second paragraph and answer the question2 in2c.

3. Have students read the third paragraph and answer the questions 3,4 in2c.

4. Ask students to read the fourth paragraph and answer the question5 in2c.

5. After finishing reading the whole passage, ask them to answer the last question in2c

Step 4  Key points

Present the key and difficult points to students.

Step5. Exercises

According to the key points to do some exercises.

Read the passage again and do activity 2d.

Check the answers.

Step 6 Listening

Listen to the tape and draw the mind map

Step7  Summary

Summarize what we have learned today.
