教学设计思路

In Senior English Module1, the students have learnt how to analyze a person in Unit5 “Nelson Mandela – A Modern Hero”. Therefore, it’s not difficult for them to understand the general idea of such kind of Reading passage, but they shall be given more opportunities to explore and convey logical thinking and reflect on their thoughts.

The Reading passage entitled “A Student of African Wildlife” mainly tells us the story of a great woman scientist named Jane Goodall and her colleagues in the forest of Africa observing the chimps, which extends the main topic “Women of Achievement”. Students will be curious and enabled to discuss what problems to overcome in order to achieve these ambitions, especially for girls.

Task 3: Purpose of design: the students can improve their reading skill—scanning. And they can get the two lines of the whole passage: the main line—student, and the hidden line—wildlife, which builds a base for reading comprehension.

Task 4: Purpose of design: to help students pay attention to the topic sentence of each paragraph, which is helpful for them to get the general idea of the passage.

Task 5: Purpose of design: to help the students catch the correct detailed information and have them do logical thinking in order to make them better understand the passage.
