1)Knowledge Objectives:

2) Ability Objectives:

a.Students can write names and numbers.

b.Students can make ID card and write about themselves.

c.Students can learn the Western concept of first names and last names.

3)Emotional Objectives:

By completing the tasks, the students can use the target language to communicate with their friends well. And they can have a better understanding of the culture differences between China and the Western countries.

2. Ask the student’s name

(Chinese name)

To arouse Students’ interests, review the numbers that we have learnt, then lead in the topic-Chinese name.

本节课一个课时

While-task:

Task 1: skimming

1.   Skim 2b and find a Chinese name?

It’s Zhang Mingming.

(introduce the structure of the Chinese name: last name+first name)

  Then use the expression “What’s your first/last name?” to ask Ss.

And Ss give proper answer “My first/last name is….”

Guide students to find and learn the structure of the Chinese name. And make Ss be familiar with the first reading strategy: skimming

 

2.   Skim para3, and answer!

 (Who is Zhang Mingmings friend?)

 She is Mary Brown

(introduce the structure of the English name: first name+last name)

Then use the expression “What’s her first/last name?” to ask Ss.

And Ss give proper answer “Her first/last name is….”

Guide students to find and learn the structure of the English name.

 

3.Find the difference and make a conclusion

 Chinese name has two parts: last name+first name.

English full name has two parts: first name+middle name+last name

Ss can find the differences between the Chinese name and the English name, and have a better understanding of them.

2.  Find more: Write F for first name and L    for last name in2a.

Ss can be familiar with the first name and the last name from the Chinese name and the English name.

 

Post - task

Make an ID card and give a report

(Tips: 7人一组,一起制作一张某位组员身份卡片,选出代表向大家展示)
